Filipino Pride Sweater or Tee

$45.00
Custom designed and embroidered 'Filipino Sunrise' pride crewneck sweaters (and tees -- see listings)! Designed by ConceptShell owner and artist, Shayla Hufana. Note: No shirts/sweaters are exactly the same as stitching varies across each product.

Printed by Midnight Supply Co, Filipino, woman-owned local Seattle business on Independent Trading Company - Unisex Sweater - Black

Description: I wanted to create a warm, clean design to represent who I am in hopes that all people would feel joy and peace when seeing it. From the blue 🌊, green land and brown foundation ⛰️ to the yellow sun rising and setting, surrounded by beautiful pink, deep red and purple skies 🌄

From a #Filipino perspective, the edge of the sun rays are abstractly pointed similar to the Philippines’ national flag (without the slits). There are originally 8 rays in the golden sun which symbolizes unity, freedom, people’s democracy, sovereignty (the 1896 Philippine Revolution—look it up to learn about the history). This flag also includes the colors blue (peace, truth, justice) and red (patriotism, valor).

For #Pride, I included all the colors in the rainbow flag which represent life, healing, sunlight/new ideas, prosperity, nature, magic, serenity, harmony and spirit. I added pink and brown from the progress pride flag to represent the larger LGBTQIA+ community and people of color.
